Tax Credit Program

Energy bill update
The $300 Federal Tax Credit Program ended as of December 31, 2007. Although the program was highly successful, our Federal Government decided not to extend the program. Therefore, the Federal Tax Credit will NOT be available for installations after December 31, 2007.

We are hoping that this program will be reinstated (through our diligent efforts) or that a newer program is established for 2008, however, as for now this $300 Tax Credit is not available for 2008.

For further information, please visit the Department of Energy website at: http://www.energy.gov.

Energy bill details
President Bush and Congress passed an Energy Bill on July 29, 2005 that will give a tax incentive credit of up to $300 to all homeowners nationwide who purchase a highly efficient water heater in 2006 and 2007. This bill was passed in an effort to address the nation’s ongoing energy crisis. Beginning in tax year 2006, consumers will be able to itemize purchases on their federal income tax form, which will lower the total amount of tax they owe the government. Pre-existing homes built in 2005 or earlier will be eligible for Tax Credits of up to $500. Please note, the Federal Tax Credit will NOT be available for installations after December 31, 2007.

Incomparable product line-up
Takagi’s tankless water heaters hold some of the highest energy factor rates in the industry averaging 0.81 to 0.94. According to the Department of Energy, the energy factor must be a minimum of 0.80 and applicable to water heater(s) classified for residential use only to qualify for the tax credit. Takagi offers models listed below that all meet and exceed these qualifications, saving you “more money”.

HOW IT USED TO BE...

The Energy Policy Act of 2005
What the Energy Bill Means to You

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT), signed by President Bush on August 8, 2005, offers consumers and businesses federal tax credits beginning in January 2006 for purchasing fuel-efficient hybrid-electric vehicles and energy-efficient appliances and products. Most of these tax credits remain in effect through 2007.

Buying and driving a fuel-efficient vehicle and purchasing and installing energy-efficient appliances and products provide many benefits such as better gas mileage – meaning lower gasoline costs, fewer emissions, lower energy bills, increased indoor comfort, and reduced air pollution.

Some consumers will also be eligible for utility or state rebates, as well as state tax incentives for energy-efficient homes, vehicles and equipment.  Each state’s energy office web site may have more information on specific state tax information.

About Tax Credits
A tax credit is generally more valuable than an equivalent tax deduction because a tax credit reduces tax dollar-for-dollar, while a deduction only removes a percentage of the tax that is owed.  Beginning in tax year 2006, consumers will be able to itemize purchases on their federal income tax form, which will lower the total amount of tax they owe the government.
